About Caniço:

Caniço is a Portuguese city serving as the headquarters of the homonymous parish in the municipality of Santa Cruz, located on the island of Madeira. The Caniço parish covers an area of 12 square kilometers and had a population of 23,368 residents in 2011, with a population density of 1,947.3 inhabitants per square kilometer.
